Aiming to dress a “regular” type of guy, Frenchman Julien David dedicated his runway debut to a mix of street-smart tailoring and funky fabrics he picked up on the streets of Tokyo, where he is based, including crazy checkered wool for shirts and waterproof wool angora for raincoats.

A standout piece was David’s edgy take on the classic man’s coat done in blue alpaca wool sporting a fuzzy feel, while a line-up of loose-fitting flannel suits with pants rolled up just above the ankle telegraphed the collection’s street-credibility.
