Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren said their collection was inspired by Jules Verne’s “A Journey to the Center of the Earth,” but anyone looking for a literal take on the sci-fi classic would have been disappointed. This lineup of skinny suits, set off by bulky outerwear, was very much of the here and now, with only the moody palette providing an echo of the mineral theme.
Bonded technical fabrics, which have migrated from the sports locker to the boardroom, softened the outlines of tailored gray suits. A grain pattern, like the static on an old television set, appeared on a blazer with a bonded gray jersey lining and a matching parka coat.
Sprinkled throughout were graphic prints, designed in collaboration with Dutch artist Piet Parra. It made for a solidly commercial lineup, likely to please their boss Renzo Rosso, who sat in the front row.
