Christopher Shannon is another London men’s designer who looked to Eighties Britain for inspiration this season. The designer’s show notes cited “the early years of Thatcherism and the post-punk era,” as his touchstones, influences that Shannon spun into an appealing, upbeat collection of souped-up leisure wear. Slim, tailored track pants were done in soft leather in shades of black, white, orange and red, and paired with sweaters knit with intarsia images of cigarette packets. Shannon also splashed bold, retro-looking prints across his lineup. Bulky puffer jackets were done in a brown and white print made up of patches of dog tooth check and cartoonish flowers, while a swirling pink paisley and floral design was done on a fitted leisure suit with a zip-up, funnel neck top.
