Nasir Mazhar’s cult-like popularity was evidenced by the decibels of the enthusiastic applause and the multitude of his logos in the audience. “I’m gonna be bankrupt,” said one acolyte after the show.

Mazhar’s simple approach to design (“I just find fabrics and make clothes”) belies a complex aesthetic which veers towards a more-is-more approach. With his usual sporty nods to basketball and motorcross, he used high-shine fabrics with sweatshirting, denim and cotton shirting in the mix.

There were quite a few repeats from last season: the basketball shorts with free overlaid panels, the holsters, the excess of branding, and the exposed boxer shorts. Scores of buckles on a pair of shimmering green pants added a paratrooper touch.
