After showing the past two seasons in Paris, Antonio Azzuolo returned with a small presentation that featured his women’s lineup alongside his men’s. “The collection is a reflection of a personal journey,” said Azzuolo at the presentation. That journey included trips to Japan, his life in Milan as creative director for Giuliano Fujiwara and his home life in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The result was an interesting blend of ideas that featured an Armani-inspired power suit look and belted coats for both men and women, men’s elongated judo style skater shorts layered over skinny pants and kimono belted vests over jackets. But sometimes Azzuolo traveled too far: The collection lost focus with the introduction of Peruvian alpaca graphic sweaters, also in unisex styles.
