Hackett London Men’s RTW Fall 2015

Jeremy Hackett showed a capsule collection of looks exalting fabrics from British wool mill Fox Bros & Co.

Baa baa. Hackett London takes its wool very seriously — so much so that tailor Jeremy Hackett invested in a sheep flock as part of a deal with his British fabric suppliers Fox Brothers & Co.

The capsule collection he showed Friday evening at a grand townhouse formerly owned by William Waldorf Astor was called “Sheep Shape & London Fashion” and was inspired by the late British tailor Tommy Nutter’s use of checks in various scales. There were suits, trousers and jackets done in contrasting checks — magnified windowpane, tartan-inspired — and others made with a pattern of thick and thin stripes. Even the bowler hat, a Hackett signature, came decorated with a patchwork of checked fabrics.

Hackett nodded to another great sheep-related product, the shearling, which came in the form of a short coat or a sleeveless vest, both paired with corduroy trousers.
