For his first Paris presentation, in a small art gallery, Yosuke Aizawa pitched a camouflage tent, around which models milled in the technical outerwear that is at the core of his label. Outdoor and military are the two words Aizawa always uses to describe his collection, which is strong on black nylon and Gore-Tex parkas and puffer jackets worn with cargo pants or quilted jogging sweats – the kind of pieces the designer wears to go snowboarding. The clothes work off the mountain, too, in an array of casual fabrics including cozy tartan, wool fleece, nylon satin and washed cotton. Lots of patch pockets are there for all the latest gadgets.

This is a label to watch, from the camo prints tweaked with owl or naïve flower motifs on military parkas to a collaboration with Adidas on sneakers.
