There was a minimal — yet handmade — feel to Oliver Spencer’s lineup. Inspired by Russian Modernist art and the colorful, abstract works of the British painter Ben Nicholson, Spencer employed flashes of color to give a jolt to the easy tailoring he crafted from natural fabrics. Cropped, electric blue pants were worn with an unlined, tailored jacket and matching waistcoat in light brown linen. Navy trousers and a cream linen blazer were livened up with a vivid jade green shirt. A smattering of cozy sweaters — such as a sky blue one worn under an electric blue suit — underlined Spencer’s appealing way of juxtaposing sleek and rugged.
