This dandyish collection designed by Daniele Cavalli rippled with color, prints and lots of sparkle. Cavalli, son of Roberto and his wife Eva, said he set out to design a collection that was “eccentric but masculine” and his inspirations included David Bowie in his glam rock phase, along with Cecil Beaton — hence the models’ foulards — and Salvador Dali.

Although Cavalli did show the odd navy pea coat and forest green blazer, the collection was strictly for peacocks. Jackets came in materials ranging from emerald green suede to metallic pink or purple leather, while others were paved with sparkling crystals. Trousers were pastel pink or purple. During the show, 500 butterflies fluttered inside a big cage at the back of the runway, and they had a hard time competing with Cavalli’s wild ways.
