With the lyrics “Dress like a boy, talk like a girl” as the backdrop, Steven Cox and Daniel Silver delivered a chic, gender-bending collection that pushed men’s wear boundaries to the limit — even in the Duckie Brown universe.
Inspired by fruit cart vendors in London and the romance of French lace, the duo offered heritage workwear blended with athletic basics. But those basics were given the signature Duckie Brown treatment: Basketball shorts were cut open to become skirts, and sweatshirts without sleeves were transformed into halters.
“It’s just us taking the basics and moving proportions around,” Silver said.
The play on proportion worked best in an elongated khaki and gray double shirt paired with khaki linen gym shorts, and the extra-long black-and-white summer topcoats layered over a gray apron and board shorts.
