The Black Sail man better have an active lifestyle. Designer Chris Cox kept a laser focus on the company’s heritage, as most of the collection would be apropos on a sailboat or luxury yacht.
A wide range of summer outerwear pieces — hooded parkas, anoraks, utility jackets — in technical fabrics with functional construction were among the main messages here. Highlights included French-loop sweaters and terry cloth pullovers shown with textured nylon cargoes and pleated trunks. A seam-sealed white stretch nylon sailing jacket with minimalist hardware, paired with a navy mock-neck sweater and black nylon pants, was also a standout.
Although the show was a solid effort and delivered an elevated take on some all-American classics, it became a bit monotonous with 50 looks — some editing would have helped.
