Katie Eary’s typically upbeat show saw her imagining how the cowboys of the future would look, and the result was a line-up of rodeo playboys. Shirts printed with psychedelic fish in fuchsia and orange were worn unbuttoned to there, revealing either bare chests or printed skintight turtlenecks. Gold-plated bull’s head buckles on belts, medallion necklaces, signet rings and huge mirrored sunglasses all added to the Wild West Lothario effect.
Skinny jeans looked as though they’d been in constant use since the Seventies, and some were appliquéd with suede peace symbols and cacti. Eary whipped up fringed biker jackets in suede, while traditional fringed rebozos were supersized, printed, and draped to form an exaggerated cowl over printed silk knits.
