Dsquared2’s spring show was a fun Pop-art romp. Designers Dean and Dan Caten set up an artist’s atelier at the top of the catwalk, with models painting and posing under the garret’s glass ceiling.
The arty theme played out literally in the clothes. The duo splashed wide carrot jeans with embroidered Jean-Michel Basquiat graffitilike figures or slapped Keith Haring’s radiant baby on a derriere pocket.
Elsewhere, neon camouflage prints — in pink, green and yellow — added an Eighties zing to white camp shirts and blazers, while Basquiat’s mad cat rendering popped from other shirts and sweaters.
The swimwear was as skimpy and saucy as it gets, and a forest of arms held aloft smartphones every time a hunk lumbered by to the thump of The Jacksons’ “Can You Feel It.”
