Neil Barrett took the weight off a man’s wardrobe this season. Working classic outerwear pieces in lightweight leather and Neoprene, the designer offered a wide choice for spring.
The show began as a pristine affair with white-on-white looks, cleverly layered via carrot pants, elongated sweaters and cropped Fifties-inspired jackets, bombers and perfectos. Barrett found a way to make the combination look fresh and never heavy: The side zippers on the slightly A-shaped sweaters proved key.
The designer then switched to grays and blues, working volume with precision. His roomy parka with strategically placed zippers and mathematically calculated proportions was a showstopper — genuinely masculine, yet light and youthful like the rest of the summery lineup.
