A laid-back attitude pervaded Christophe Lemaire’s collection, which incorporated elements of leisurewear such as jogging pants and pajama suits. But there was nothing slouchy about his combinations of roomy shirts and loose-cut pants.
The jogging bottoms came in crisp cotton-linen twill, while cotton chambray pants featured pleats for a relaxed fit. Adding to the “at-home” vibe were oversize shirts cut like old-fashioned nightshirts (a navy version was worn over shorts and paired with slipper-style calf leather loafers).
Oversize shirts were zipped or buttoned up to be worn as jackets on a number of the looks. A navy cotton spread collar shirt and elasticated pants, for instance, reflected the Asian workwear influences that frequently crop up in Lemaire’s designs.
