Virgil Abloh titled his second men’s Off-White collection “Moving Still.” “I started up the collection being inspired by the ocean and waves and the fact that it’s this huge body that is seemingly still but has a lot of kinetic energy to it,” he said. Wave imagery appeared as photographic appliqués or as splatters of paint. Abloh called the nautical reference more Baja than Montauk, N.Y.
New to his line this season were floral prints and a “casual take on a suit,” including a jacket with a roomy cut and no buttons. There were also some collages made of military patches, and layered, longer silhouettes prevailed. Abloh’s design universe already includes women’s ready-to-wear and furniture.
