Tim Coppens is ready to have a good time.

The Belgian designer, known for his conceptual philosophy and architecturally inspired designs, decided to play outside the box this season by adding bright neon colors, amoeba prints and even a magic mushroom motif.

“In the past, everything had been very designed, but I wanted to express the other side — the fun element,” Coppens said. Another sign that he’s ready to loosen up was the introduction of a flowy silhouette in pants, utility jackets and sweatshirts.

“It’s a fun vibe, but it’s a cool vibe too,” the designer said.

The technical elements that are a Coppens signature were still evident in the use of a pleated nylon quilted parka in bright yellow and a utility trench in bonded suede.

Stepping out of his comfort zone suits Coppens well — his new carefree side provides him with a welcome new dimension.
