Christian Dada designer Masanori Morikawa revved up an outlaw biker theme for spring, taking direct inspiration from Marlon Brando’s Johnny Strabler character in Stanley Kramer’s 1953 film “The Wild One.”

“He was so fragile, but the leader of a motorcycle gang,”  Morikawa said at his presentation, up one ramp in a parking garage. “I was kind of touched.”

Models scattered among motorcycles in a tableau vivant scene successfully parlayed that slice of Fifties Americana into Morikawa’s fashion universe. Of course, there was a large quotient of snug-fitting biker jackets: some in horse leather with Japanese Yokoburi embroidery of eagles, skulls and dragons.

Delicate details, also including Nishijin jacquard (a traditional Japanese fabric), softened tougher elements like cropped leather pants, trousers and jeans.
