Peter Copping’s starting point for Nina Ricci’s pre-fall collection was dove gray flannel, which he went on to mix into a light and feminine mélange. By putting chiffon fronts on knit cardigans, crushing bows on a bustier dress, adding a ruffled collar on a trenchcoat and throwing tiny flower garlands on satin skirts, Copping adds a delicate and whimsical twist to a city wardrobe. Meanwhile, the crystal bottle stoppers used for jewelry and basket-shaped bags are a witty nod to the flowery, scented world of Nina Ricci.
