Pre-fall at Carolina Herrera was a sophisticated-yet-understated affair. There was no grand theme — unless you count the cheeky poodle prints inspired by her dog Gaspar. Herrera called the lineup a continuation of spring, which could be seen in the navy looks, though the ample earth tones signaled an autumnal turn. Silhouettes consisted of belted dresses (long and knee length), tie-neck blouses, a few pairs of trousers and plenty of long-sleeve evening gowns, like the wedding dress Herrera designed for Kristen Stewart in the latest “Twilight” installment.
