Showing his continued love for the uniformed look, Reed Krakoff named his new pre-fall bag The Uniform — an oversize, structured number with exposed pockets. Still, he softened things up this season by adding silky fabrics to his usual cashmeres, felts and furs, most of which were worked in gradient greens and nudes. A range of clean, graphic coats were key pieces, while ribbed knits featured leather sleeve details and prints drawn on Krakoff’s signature chain mail motif and the works of Man Ray. Trompe l’oeil was also used in the lineup, replicating a heavy fabric on a light one. “It’s all about relaxed luxury,” he said.
