Alberta Ferretti chose Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont as the venue to show both her pre-fall and demi-couture collections, which, in keeping with the brand’s DNA, were romantic but with a more contemporary touch.
For pre-fall, Ferretti focused on clean, geometric silhouettes, i.e., a minimal boatneck top worn with matching cigarette pants, and a masculine tuxedo made more feminine with a ruffled silk chiffon blouse. Of course, those classic lightweight chiffon dresses, such as a frilled foulard style, were there as well.
The demi-couture range revolved around architectural shapes. Silk satin bustier and column gowns made up the essential look, balanced by more opulent chiffon floor-length frocks embellished with precious stones.
