“Texture, jagged edges, prints and expanses of color,” was the gist of Lela Rose’s collection, which was inspired by the paintings of Clyfford Stills. These elements surfaced in rough-edged, graphic lace overlays on sheaths and as driplike embroideries on classic T-shirts. Rose’s soft pants, quirky jackets and tweedy cocktail dresses were done mostly in a rich mix of colors and textures that also mirrored Stills’ abstract art.
