“I was thinking about quilts and blankets — things that keep you warm,” said Roksanda Ilincic of her pre-fall collection, which threw the spotlight onto cozy, cocooning fabrics. One loose, sweeping overcoat with wide lapels was done in color-blocked, tonal shades of green felt, while another coat came in a bottle green Steiff teddy bear fabric.

 

Ilincic even worked her evening pieces in blanket-inspired fabrics. A calf-length bustier dress was shown in a blue herringbone wool lined with electric orange, and constructed so that it appeared to have been wrapped around the body like a sheet. The herringbone print — inspired by a vintage blanket Ilincic found — also turned up as a pattern in deep purple and black on a chic, midlength satin dress.
