It’s a big season for Alice Temperley, who is ramping up her ready-to-wear offering — especially for day — and shifting into a more luxury, designer-market position. For pre-fall she launched a 26-style scarf collection, the first in a handful of new categories on the horizon.
As for the clothes, Temperley focused on separates that are meant to be layered, in addition to the romantic-with-an-edge dresses for which she is known. Architectural patterns — stained glass windows, swirling iron railings — were worked into jacquard dresses with full sleeves, silk columns and A-line skirts and dresses in organza and structured silk. Hand craftsmanship played a big role, with panels of French lace, ribbon embellishments and bright, chain-stitched flowers incorporated throughout the collection.
