Citing the graphic, linear work of French artist Pierre Soulages and the spirit of activewear as key influences, Elie Tahari channeled both a modernist viewpoint and sporty elements with mesh details and scuba silhouettes. He worked the former in multiple ways on T-shirts, dresses and jackets; the athletic inspiration was most evident in a form-fitted Neoprene jacket and dress with a tweed inset across the front and a scuba zipper. More subtle riffs on the theme included a shift dress in laser-cut leather bonded to mesh. Like much in the lineup, it was at once casual and dressy.
