The Paris-based, Irish designer Sharon Wauchob has a way with making lace and embroidery look cool. For her first pre-fall collection — which she described as “nostalgic, with a little historic feeling” — she looked to antique military decorations for inspiration. Wauchob trimmed boyish pants, from skinny and long to mannish and oversize, with the motifs, and also applied jet-bead leaf designs and chenille embroideries to cropped, boxy jackets.

The designer balanced the military look with the delicate lingerie dresses and tops she’s known for, resulting in clothes that were romantic while still effortless and stylish.
