Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler were “keeping things simple,” according to show notes for their resort collection for Bally, presented Tuesday in New York as a mini show. The clothes followed classic lines — a white leather jacket and matching skirt that fell below the knee, cropped trousers and shift dresses done in colorblocking — that were indeed simple, perhaps to the point of fading into the background. Which was fine, since Bally is a leather house that has always focused on bags and shoes. There were high-heel peep toe oxfords and a variation on an ankle-strap loafer, most of which came tipped in white leather. The bags too were piped, large and small with shots of brights.
