Raul Melgoza said he imagined a journey through a Moroccan village for his Luca Luca resort collection. “I think a crafty element makes clothes more relaxed,” said the designer. So, basket weaves were incorporated into dresses, shaped jackets and skirts. Pink-toned prints, royal blues and gold all reflected the rich tile work seen, for instance, in Tangiers. The tiles were even mirrored in the pattern of a white eyelet flared shirtdress and a long, lean halter number. For his fancier fare, Melgoza said, “Everyone needs a short fluid silver sequined skirt for resort,” so he paired the look with a soft pink silk shirt with cut-out shoulders.
