“What we did for fall was very intense,” said Georgina Chapman. “This is a palate cleanser.” Well, she and Keren Craig couldn’t have picked a more leisurely inspiration for resort: Slim Aarons’ book “A Place in the Sun.” That fabulous beautiful-people lifestyle came out in the glam gowns and cocktailwear, all cast in sunny hues pulled straight from Aarons’ pages: citrus orange, sun yellow, fuchsia and, as Craig called it, “the swimming pool greens we were obsessed with.” While things were Marchesa-decadent, there was a sense of chic ease, too — caftans with intricate bejeweled embroideries; flowing goddess dresses, some one-shouldered, with gold sequin accents, and a slew of flirty frocks that channeled Grace Kelly in “To Catch a Thief.” One fun highlight: the full-skirted leopard-print dress with a band of turquoise beading at the waist.
