Cake frosting and Fred Wilson chandeliers — references with the potential to turn saccharine resulted in a crisp and cheerful lineup by Thakoon Panichgul. There was an undercurrent of preppiness to the colors and sporty shapes, but Panichgul made it fresh with innovative fabrics, such a basketweave motif, Neoprene and leather combinations and a terrific foamy linen jacquard shot with neon stripes. His secondary collection Addition was also stocked with interesting, combination textiles — embroidered eyelet, fleece-backed cotton — delivered on clean cuts with a youthful energy. This time, the focus was on graphic patterns, such as an “angry leopard” print.
