Since Humberto Leon and Carol Lim took over the reins at Kenzo, their goal has been to be as playful as possible with myriad colors and prints. Following up on their hit “tiger” sweater for fall, this time they showed the animal motif in a fun, sometimes over-the-top way, mixing vibrant-hued leopard patterns for total looks: a satin skirt over a knit dress, a cropped jacket and parka with pants. Continuing the animal theme, tiny zebra prints were worked into the house logo and shown on T-shirts and dresses. As for the silhouettes, they were voluminous variations of safari jackets, dresses, cargo pants and light cotton tops, some of them with drawstrings or zippers to shorten their lengths and “ruffle” their volumes. “When weather gets hot, you can play and create your own air-conditioning,” quipped Leon.
