“I’m all about ease,” said Rachel Comey, standing beside a makeshift geodesic dome (aka a big hexagon-shaped tent) erected in the middle of her showroom that will serve as her pop-up shop in July at The Surf Lodge in Montauk, N.Y. In keeping with the quirky beach vibe, Comey showed a strong focus on swimwear, most notably with a four-way stretch pin-striped fabric worked on ruched and strappy maillots, as well as boxy tops. She also offered her version of the iconic Baja sweater via a Turkish towel fabric cut into an oversize caftan.
