Inspired by Los Angeles architecture, senior vice president of design Greg Myler focused on lines and shapes for his St. John collection. Silhouettes were both linear and curvaceous, from straight-legged pants, slim skirts and asymmetrical sweaters to tops with soft cascading ruffles and gentle peplums. Myler looked to the work of L.A. artist Tomory Dodge, specifically his bold use of colors that played out in St. John’s monochromatic looks and vivid floral prints. For evening, the aesthetic was young and chic with tuxedo-inspired looks and, on the more dramatic side, a gold-embroidered jacket and a pearl-embroidered tweed suit.
