Thom Browne’s clothes for resort were quite literally turned inside out, upside down and back to front. A sheath dress, for example, showed its raw seams and edges; shoulder pads were sewn on the outside of one tweed and wool jacket. These may sound like tricky designs, but Browne demonstrated a perfect sense of control, with the right amount of wit and a dash of sex appeal. “I paid a lot of attention to good tailored dresses,” he said. This collection was a prime example.
