An especially strong lineup, Maria Cornejo’s resort collection was inspired by her desire to travel to northern Africa, where clothes for travel and urban life — dresses, swimwear and a nod to the tuxedo for evening — fit the bill. Based primarily in monotones, the collection featured two main prints: The first was a photo of trees taken by her husband, to which she added playful geometric patterns; the second was an airy motif based on a kinetic light installation in Paris. As usual, there was a strong focus on shapes and texture with mesh tech fabrics, wavy jacquards, velvets, two-tone linens and her signature feathered silk fabric.
