Marco Zanini went literal for resort. Inspired by a New England fishing village, the designer used motifs from the sea, like crabs, oysters, starfish and stingrays, which he featured as prints or jacquards on tops, skirts and dresses. The sea creatures even made it onto the bags. Zanini also played with the pajama trend, his version rendered in striped shirts and shorts. Some of the simpler looks, such as a piquélike white silk gown and a vinyl coat bonded with a stingray motif lining, had the appeal of seaside getaway.
