“My woman buys these clothes to celebrate the holidays, not to take them traveling on a yacht,” said Bibhu Mohapatra of resort. His dressy collection included some lovely short pleated silk dresses that the designer called “high day looks,” along with voluminous dresses with narrow torsos and bands of horsehair at the wavy hemlines. Gowns in simple shapes came in lavish fabrics such as silk twill printed with blue-and-silver foil vines. The execution was impeccable, especially the varied pleating techniques on the blue silk crepe beauty with a floating halter neckline.
