Jonathan Saunders looked to the bold creations of Ettore Sottsass, one of the founders of the Memphis design movement, for resort. That influence came through in the collection’s graphic, off-beat and often exaggerated silhouettes. An oversize, heavy knit striped sweater with rounded shoulders was paired with a wrap-over pencil skirt, while a mannish brown trench was belted over a gold Lurex skirt and sweater.

Saunders said he wanted the clothes to evoke the look of interiors, thus a double-breasted jacket and structured silk minidress were done in sky blue jacquard woven in an upholsterylike lattice pattern. And for some lighter fare, a black chiffon dress looked as if it was spattered with blue and yellow paint, while a bright yellow silk frock featured a  wrap skirt revealing a black lining.
