Osman Yousefzada’s hand drawings were the starting point for the designer’s bold resort collection, which highlighted inventive color combinations and painterly prints. Inspired by the color-saturated work of artists Wassily Kandinsky and Sonia Delaunay, along with René Magritte’s surreal paintings, Yousefzada featured a strapless, A-line brocade gown in an abstract red, purple and blue pattern. He also wove a cloud motif throughout — it appeared as a brushstroke pattern on a simple, one-shouldered white minidress; as a beaded appliqué on a red cashmere cardigan, and as the scalloped edge of a red pocket on a pale pink blouse.
