Palm Beach-y sportif silhouettes done in a sun-bleached palette of dusty pink, blue and ivory inspired by the work of Milton Avery put Tory Burch’s resort collection in one of the season’s sweet spots: relaxed silhouettes with pretty but not precious details. It was a tad preppy too, though Burch said she loathes that word. Florals were a standout motif, whether as a dense burnout on an anorak or the embroideries inspired by her mother’s handkerchiefs on long and mid-length dresses.

There was also impressive fabric and material development on cotton that was printed, bonded and laser cut, while leather also came laser cut and woven, as on the strong handbag range.
