For resort, Tadashi Shoji looked to artist Pierre Bonnard for inspiration: His mood board was a saturated mix of the French Impressionist’s dreamy domestic scenes, vibrant florals and intricate bird embroidery on a vintage handkerchief.

The result was a lineup of lightweight, lighthearted pieces, more youthful than in seasons past. Corded lace separates and dresses featured floral appliqués, and many of the dresses were cut with a handkerchief hem. Soft lavenders, pinks and gradients of blue punctuated the palette. Hints of skin, realized in paneled strips and transparent fabrics, emphasized the shift to a younger clientele. Standout looks included an open backed, diamond-paneled top, an off-the-shoulder floral-print dress made with crinkled chiffon and a multi-blue-hued jumpsuit.
