Rock-influenced men’s wear designer Thomas Engel Hart took a walk on the mild side with his spring/summer collection. However, his three token looks for women looks toughened up the show. His glossy black men’s shorts were the shiniest in town. Cut long and paired with socks and dress shoes, they were not-quite-chic geek. Pants were straight cut with contrasting rolled cuffs. Color popped up in shirts in a large-scale check with a dash of pink, and in an interesting collage print in blue, black and white that made an eye-catching shirt-and-shorts combo. Vests were key, in muted military style with utility pockets, leather accents and cutouts. The theme continued in the women’s outfits, which paired shiny or cropped vests with skinny pants, a wrap miniskirt, and a long shirt dress.
