Hien Le already has a Berlin fan base for his minimalist neo-classics for men and women. No wonder the rousing response to his runway debut. Details are few and purposely almost invisible. The collection is built having just the right pair of pants, shorts, shirt, jacket or coat (and for women, dresses) — all unobtrusive and coolly proportioned. Plackets and waistbands are narrowed, shoulder seams often dispensed with. Most of the lines are fluid and soft, save the sharpened pagoda shoulders on tailored jackets. Le referenced his Asian heritage, taking his inspiration from Seventies family photos. But the vivid color and modern cuts felt like today.
