The highlight of this quietly luxurious collection was design director Joanna Sykes’ laid-back interpretation of the brand’s staples, in particular men’s wear and raincoats. One blush-colored trench was done in fluid silk, while an unstructured, pale gray silk trouser suit had nonchalant airs. The designer also played with textures and innovative fabrics. Sometimes the experiments flopped, as in a stiff wraparound skirt in laminated tweed.
But with a lighter touch, the contrasts worked beautifully, such as a sheer chiffon T-shirt worn with mannish pants or a shiny tank under a white silk trench jacket.
