Ballantyne played with its signature argyle diamonds, splaying them diagonally on an ultrafine gray cardigan or lining them across the waist of a navy shift dress featuring a V-shaped back with a frill trim. Plain knits were rendered in featherlight blends of cashmere with cotton, silk and linen, some in tangy berry shades that stood out from the brand’s more traditional lineup in neutral and pastel hues. Also new this season was the 30-piece Ballantyne (Capsule) collection, blending the Scottish influences of the knitwear brand’s origins with African and Japanese textile traditions such as tie-dye and shibori.
