Les Copains worked a Sixties vibe for spring, dotting big gold buttons on everything from a backless navy ribbed sweater dress to a boxy white wool jacket worn with matching silk shantung capris. With their nautical stripes and bursts of bright yellow, the opening outfits had the optimism of a Slim Aarons photograph. But that message got diluted when the collection meandered into Seventies territory, with black or white muslin and crochet caftan dresses and natural cotton ribbon crochet knits. While interesting, a smattering of outfits featuring graphite portraits of women by artist Omar Galliani looked even more out of place.
