Sophie Theallet looked to her French roots for spring, citing the 1969 film “La Piscine,” from its use of bold color to the sexual tension throughout. She opened her lineup with a brief but noteworthy group of short or floor-duster dresses that revealed a bit of skin, some in stark white and others in bright prints. After that, Theallet seemed to revisit familiar silhouettes inspired by her darker muse from fall, Bonnie Parker, with blousy satin dresses and tops, sporty color-blocked pieces, simply updated this season in brilliant hues (and sans berets). While those bad-girl Parker looks were a hit, seeing them a second time around left us wanting more of Theallet’s fresh spring ideas.
