When Victoria Beckham gave WWD a preview of Victoria by Victoria Beckham back in June, she said it was her girliest endeavor yet, an idea she reiterated when she presented the full collection on Monday at Milk Studios, narrating each look while bouncing her new baby girl on her knee. The pretty, easy silhouettes featured feminine flourishes, such as drop waists, pleated skirts, scalloped details and trompe l’oeil collars. Many styles bore the influence of Sixties London with Mod-like shifts, yet the collection had range. Jacquard cocoon shapes were glam while novelty cat and cloud prints channeled a sense of play. It was youthful without skewing too young. As Beckham said, she envisioned this collection as one with appeal for women of various ages and shapes.
