The garden of Jones Wood, a co-op collective on the Upper East Side, was both the inspiration and the venue for Yeohlee Teng’s spring show. Along with helicopters circling above and a Zen pace to the show on the ground, Teng created her own fashion contrasts using an uncharacteristic vibrant palette for printed sheaths (which were also sexier than one expects from this designer) mixed with her more familiar gray-toned palette. There were softly belled jersey skirts alongside the more rigid cylinder skirt and dress shapes. And while Teng is quite serious when it comes to her beautifully crafted architectural shapes, she showed a much breezier side with a terrific simple short jumpsuit, capri pants and a rain jacket.
